Obituary: Charles Boone
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles Boone, 89, of Harrisburg passed away at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, in Saline Care Center.
He was born July 16, 1922, in Harrisburg to Nacy and Daisy (Jenkins) Boone. On May 30, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., he married the former Naomi Parish, and she survives.
Charles was a route salesman for Dairy Brand for many years and retired from A.L. Bowen Center. He was a member of Mt. Calvary General Baptist Church, having served as a trustee, Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher and custodian. Charles was an Army veteran of World War II with the 87th Mountain Infantry.
In addition to his wife, Naomi, Charles is survived by a daughter, Charlene and husband Wayne Hale of Harrisburg; daughter-in-law, Peggy Boone of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Will Wilson, Scott and wife Joyce Boone, Todd Boone and Casey Boone; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Amanda and Bowen Wilson, Stephani and husband Chris Ranes and Brandon Boone; and one great-great-grandchild, Hadley Ranes.
Charles was preceded by his parents; son, Bobby Boone; and four siblings, Ira Stilley, Albert Stilley, Earl Stilley and Eva Goodwin.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ashford officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery, with Veterans Rites by the Harrisburg American Legion, Carrier Mills VFW and the National Guard and bugler Todd Boone.
