Obituary: Laurentine 'Teenie' Febuary

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Laurentine "Teenie" Febuary, Ridgway's oldest citizen at 102, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 surrounded by her family at the Ridgway Nursing Center.

Teenie, as most knew her, was born in Junction on June 29, 1909, to the late John and Sarah (Riney) Siener. Teenie grew up around Shawneetown and was first married to Mathias Drone on Aug. 21, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1955. She then married Joe Febuary on Feb. 20, 1960, and he preceded her in death in 1987.

Teenie really enjoyed life and always had such a positive attitude. She loved to quilt and sew, play cards and dance. She was a faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway. She was a member of the Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella, and was on the advisory board of the Golden Circle. Teenie always had her family first and will be missed dearly.

Teenie is survived by two stepsons, Richard and Virginia Drone of Ridgway and Ed Febuary of Ridgway, along with a stepdaughter-in-law, Doris Febuary of Harrisburg. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and numerous great, great-great and even great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death also by a stepson, Richard Febuary; three brothers, Tom, Lawrence and Frank Siener; and a sister, Elizabeth.

Visitation for Teenie will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Prayer service for Teenie will begin at 4 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway with Fr. Steven Beatty celebrating the Mass. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ridgway.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Immaculate Conception Cemetery or the Ridgway Golden Circle, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
