Obituary: Bernard Gotkin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bernard Gotkin, 76, of Eldorado, passed away at 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Bernard was born in Chicago on Nov. 26, 1935, a son of the late Sadie (Golstien) and Harry Gotkin.

He was a member of Cornerstone Worship Center in Raleigh.

He worked as a coal miner before retirement.

He was the widower of Patricia Darlene (Reed) Gotkin.

Bernard is survived by a daughter, Renee Gotkin, of Eldorado; a son, Brent (Brenda) Gotkin of Eldorado; a brother, David Gotkin of Chicago; grandchildren, Mark Hiller of Norris City, Heather (Timothy) Vaughn of Eldorado, Briana Gotkin of Eldorado and Brooke Gotkin of Eldorado; great-grandchildren, Ricky Vaughn, Moriah Vaughn, Dylan Vaughn and Jonah Hiller.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eli Gotkin; and a sister, Lillian Gotkin.

Funeral service will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, with the Rev. Gayland Stewart and the Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
