Obituary: Alfred Lee Johnson
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Alfred Lee Johnson, 82, Murphysboro, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County.
Alfred was born on March 19, 1929, in Harrisburg to Ray and Velma Cole Johnson. Alfred married Gladys Day in 1952.
He was an Army veteran, a member of the Harrisburg American Legion and worked for many years at Ray's BBQ in Harrisburg.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Gladys Johnson of Springfield; two sons, Rupert (Patti) Johnson of Harrisburg and Allen Johnson of Springfield; three daughters, Sharon Johnson of Springfield, Acquanetta Gilkey of Louisville, Ky. and Nikki (Kenny) Burge of Springfield; one brother, Raymond (Olive) Johnson of Harrisburg; two nieces, Renee (John) Johnson-Derrick and Donna (James) Johnson-Butcher; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Ron Williams and the Rev. Alvis Lanton officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg with graveside military rites by the Harrisburg American Legion. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
