Obituary: Betty Jean Wheeler Kemmer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty Jean Kemmer, 61, Richland, Wash., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at her home.

Betty was a retired respiratory therapist.

She was born Nov. 26, 1949, in Broughton, the daughter of Inman and Helen (Lutz) Wheeler.

According to her wishes, her body is to be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held near her home at a later date.

Betty was a beautiful person who loved making the world more beautiful by planting thousands of flowers during her lifetime. A memorial plaque is being placed in her honor in an area she recently landscaped for a land management community.

She also loved horseback riding in the mountains and by the ocean shore. Her pets were very important to her and her two Bengal cats were her closest friends. She loved taking pictures and sharing them with others. She was a generous and kind person, a true friend to all.

She is survived, and greatly missed, by her son, Thomas Shane Kropff; and two grandsons, Spencer Allan Kropff and Levi Stephen Kropff, all of Marysville, Wash.; also three brothers, Ira Olson Wheeler and wife Gee Soon of Seoul, South Korea, Dennis Wheeler and wife Lois of Thompsonville and Terry Wheeler and wife Loretta of McLeansboro; and one sister, Karen Lasswell and husband John of Centralia.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jesse Wheeler; and one sister, Mary Nell Hammersley.
