Obituary: Barbara Ann Bean

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Barbara Ann Bean, 63, of Equality, passed away at 1:56 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1948, in Uniontown, Ky. to Charles and Fay (Hawk) Hopper. She was married to Lowell F. Benjamin, who preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 2001.

Barbara married William E. Bean on March 25, 2005. She was a member of the McLain-Glover American Legion Post No. 595 Ladies Auxiliary.

Barbara is survived by husband William "Bill" Bean of Equality; four stepchildren, Dallas and Ken Smothers of Harrisburg, Daniel Bean of Equality, Dustin and Brianna Bean of Cave-in-Rock and Destiny Bean of Dillwyn, Va.; one sister, Collene and Larry James of Tell City, Ind.; one brother, Rick Hopper of Uniontown, Ky.; one aunt, Freda and Glen Rakestraw of Morganfield, Ky.; one uncle, Claud and Barb Hopper Jr. of Wheatcroft, Ky; and four stepgrandchildren, Dakota, Elam, Treyson, and Isabella Bean.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell F. Benjamin; two sisters, Claudia Adams and Charlene Bishop; and one brother, Bobby Wayne Hopper.

Visitation for Barbara was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral service will be at the chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, with the Rev. Marshall Glover officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
