Obituary: Juanita G. Stone Thaxton

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Juanita G. Stone Thaxton, 84, Harrisburg, died 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at her home.

She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Dixon, Ky. to the late Will and Georgia Ann Stone. She was married to Ed Thaxton, who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1988.

She retired from Harrisburg Manufacturing. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by one brother, J.C. Stone; and two sisters-in-law, Janette Stone and Lecrecia Stone; her children, Linda Vinyard, Gerry "Goat" Thaxton, Terry (Norma) Thaxton, Dennis (Paula) Thaxton and Kim (Mike) Upchurch, all of Harrisburg; a son-in-law, MIke Balch of Sandusky, Ohio and Patti Stokich of Olney, who was raised as her own daughter; her grandchildren, Carolyn McGhee (J.D. Smock), Chris Lay, Gary Michael Thaxton, Teri Rae (Chad) Pate, Kevin (Chalet) Thaxton, Dennie (Robert) Dukes, Kellie (Jamie) Satterfield, Brett Upchurch (Rachael Vinyard), Baylie Upchurch, Chris Stokich, Blake Stokich, Earin Beach, Jody Horne, Chad Ditterline, Laurie Mullen, Larry, Tina and Sandy Mitchell. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ceaira, Dillon, Tyler, Amber, Jaci, Zach, Noah, Tristen, Kyler Remington, Rylee, Tindall, Tiffany, Lexi, Mandey, Blane, Tysen, Brandon, Danielle, Bryant, Kenzie, Alex, Christopher, Mark, Juli&#39;onna and Jasmine; and several nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her "bestest" friend, Lela Hester of Harrisburg; and caregiver, Cristy Reed.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Kay Balch; three grandchildren, Deanetta Jo, Gary Michael and Michelle Renee Balch; a great-granddaughter, Stormi Jo Pennell; two sisters, Loretta Hill and Flossie Fleming; several brothers, Finis R.W., Shirley Dale, Donald Gene, Lonnie, Charles, Earl and an infant.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Reed&#39;s Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. Darrell Ford officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church.
