Obituary: James C. Ley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James C. Ley, 75, Harrisburg, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Marion.

He was born on April 17, 1936, in Giltner, Neb. to the late Clyde and Ila (Brock) Ley; he was raised by his mother and stepfather, P. Stewart. He was raised and lived mostly in Las Vegas, Nev. On July 5, 1986, he married Sandra (Denny) King and she survives.

James was a member of the Glazier Union Local 2001 in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada. He was a 4-H leader for many years of the Broken Arrow 4-H Club. He enjoyed woodworking and working on his Volkswagen, deep sea fishing, camping and formerly raced stock cars. He loved his family and grandchildren.

Surviving family members include his wife, Sandra J. Ley of Harrisburg; six children, Debbie Gibson of Springfield, Colo., Robin Krieger and husband Stan of Springfield, Colo., Cindy Orebaugh and husband Lynn of Two Buttes, Colo., Kris Ley and wife Bernie of Springfield, Colo., Kelly Ley of Springfield, Colo. and Chad King and wife Debbie of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren, Scott and Tyler Gibson of Springfield, Colo., Ben Sparks and wife Sami of Goodwell, Okla., Rusty Sparks of Two Buttes, Colo., Brad Orebaugh of Two Buttes, Colo., Justin Krieger of Springfield, Colo., Kris Ley Jr. and Nick Ley of Springfield, Colo., Tori, Drew and Zoey King of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Dot Ryan and husband Jerry of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Roger Ley of Las Vegas, Nev.; several nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Carla and Glen Schwartz of Harrisburg, Lynn and Stan Schwartz of Harrisburg and Jan and Ted Bond of Harrisburg; and two brothers-in-law, John and Donna Denny of Harrisburg and Gary Denny of Harrisburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Taylor James Gibson; brother, Robert Ley; sister, Leone Wallace; brother, William Stewart; and a son-in-law, Billy Joe Sparks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at the Land Street Church of God in Harrisburg. The Rev. Paul Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at the Land Street Church of God. Memorial contributions may be made to the Land Street Church of God. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are in the charge of Reed Funeral Chapel.
