Obituary: Marjorie Mae (Grounds) Davis

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Marjorie Mae (Grounds) Davis, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Paducah, Ky.

Marjorie was born in Wasson on Oct. 30, 1925 to the late, Edgar and Bessie (Edwards) Grimes. She married Charles Leslie Grounds, and he preceded her in death. She later married Roger Davis, and he also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Harrisburg.

Marjorie is survived by a daughter, Carla Souders and husband Mike of Metropolis; a son, Greg Grounds and wife Debra of Golconda; four grandchildren, Ashley Thompson of Metropolis, Leslie Lawson of Metropolis, Chris Grounds of Paducah, Ky. and Stephanie Matthews of Melber, Ky.; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Joiner of Punta Gorda, Fla.; five stepchildren, Rush Davis of Sullivan, Ind., Terrie Gordon of Fredericksburg, JoAnna Bilotta of Saco, Maine, Roger Davis, Jr. of Saint Louis, Mo. and Carol Brines of Harrisburg, several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one brother, Gene Grimes; and two sisters, Shirley Jones and Loretta Leslie.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Franklyn Schroeder will officiate, burial will follow in Lindale Cemetery. Visitaton will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
