Obituary: Jimmy Barnet Hill
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jimmy Barnet Hill, 67, of Harrisburg, died surrounded by his family in his home at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Clay Hill; his mother, Mabel Lewis Hill of Ozark; two sons. Tony (Kim) Hill and Timothy (Stephanie) Hill of Creal Springs; two daughters, Tammy (Tim) Green of Winchester, Ind. and Tina (Brian) Moreland of Modoc, Ind.; stepson, Jonathan (Crystal) Palmer of Vandalia; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Eddie (Jennie) Hill, Benton, Ky., Danny (Sharon) Hill, Creal Springs and John Stanley (Melissa) Hill, Stonefort; four sisters, Nan (Joe) Tanner, Creal Springs, Elaine (Clifford) Keely, Ozark, Elizabeth (George) Boyle, Naches, Wash. and Janice (Steve) McCormick, Ozark; a sister-in-law, Iva Dell Clay (James) Adelsberger, West Frankfort; and brother-in-law, Gordon Clay.
Preceding him in death was his father, George Barnet "G. B." Hill.
The funeral service was held at Absher Nicholson Funeral Home with the Seventh Day Baptist pastor, Brian Smith, officiating. Masonic rites were performed at graveside by the Stonefort Masonic Lodge. Burial was at Joyner Cemetery, and the Carrier Mills United Methodist Church provided a lunch for the extended family after the service.
Jimmy's careers were all working with the public since he loved getting to know others. He worked for Great American Book Fairs in Missouri and owned a trash service route in Indiana and Illinois. Jim loved golfing, playing the trumpet, dancing, gymnastics, judo and the outdoors. He also loved to talk about the Bible, politics and listen to stories from others. We all love him and will miss him especially when we see the moon or hear a train whistle.
