Obituary: Robert Archie Noel

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert Archie Noel, 89, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at the Ridgway Nursing Home in Ridgway.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1921, in Harrisburg to Archie and Winnie (Endicott) Noel. Robert married Mildred Lucas in March of 1946, she preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 1999.

He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1981. Robert also proudly served his country during World War II in the Air Force. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg.

Robert is survived by a daughter, Sue and Randy Vickery of Junction; one son, John Noel of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Michael Noel of Jacksonville, Fla., Travis Vickery of Marion and Katie and Wes Hettenbach of Evansville, Ind.; and one great-grandson, Eli Vickery.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Sue Bozarth and Ruth Peak.

Graveside service for Robert will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Sunset Gardens in Harrisburg with military rites by the Harrisburg American Legion Post No. 167.
