Obituary: Glen Gibbs
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Glen Gibbs, 90, 402 N. 15th St., Vincennes, Ind., passed away at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at his residence.
Born Sept. 20, 1920, he was the son of Tom and Lela (Taylor) Gibbs. He grew up in Harrisburg and graduated from Harrisburg Township High School.
Glen was a truck driver who drove for Bringwald Trucking and retired from Yellow Freight Trucking. He served his country in the United States Army during World II. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He helped start the Vincennes Boys Club and was a volunteer there. Glen always tried to do his best in different activities, including stock car racing, bowling and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Gibbs of Vincennes, Ind.; daughter, Billie Glenda Janise and her husband, Jerry, of Evansville, Ind.; and granddaughter, Jessica Janise.
Preceding Glen in death were his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg with the Rev. Jeff Stratton officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., Vincennes, Ind.
