Obituary: Edna Agnes Fann

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edna Agnes Fann, 87, of Galatia, passed away at 1:54 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at the Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1923, in Thompsonville to the late James Edmond and Mary Dorthell (Searles) Fletcher. On Nov. 10, 1972, she married Robert Fann and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2004. Edna was a professional seamstress and a Seventh-Day Adventist by faith. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and loved raising birds. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and beloved Chihuahua, Tiny.

Surviving family members include three daughters, Recenah Trover and husband Jerry of Ozark, Sandra Strech and husband Craig of Spotsylvania, Va. and Mary Williams and husband Rick of Du Quoin; 15 grandchildren, Ron Smith, Valerie Smith, Amber Taylor, Laura Alsip, Kevin Trover, Toby Melvin, Tabetha Ward, Collin Ceto, Michael Strech, Jamie Jones, Amy Fornear, Kristen Melvin, Mandy Rector, Crystal Walker and Josh Williams; 26 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Ellen Schwager; three brothers, J.R. Fletcher, Jack Fletcher and Donald Fletcher; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Vernie Smith; grandson, Curt Summers; sister, Hazel Deering; brother: Gussie Fletcher; and sister, Alice, in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Gary West will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Thompsonville. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
