Obituary: Fannie Hendren

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fannie Hendren, 86, of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1924, in New York, N.Y., to the late Thomas and Theresa (Cervera) Cavalier. She married Samuel Hendren on Jan. 15, 1954, and he preceded her in death in August 1987. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Theresa Hunt and husband Phillip of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Sammy Hunt of Harrisburg and Nate Hunt of Harrisburg; two sisters, Jo Funaro of Harrisburg and Louise Paone of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, Anthony Cavalier of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Theresa Stanikunas; and brother, Michael Cavalier.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Father Ignatius Okonkwo will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
