Obituary: Margaret Jean Lamkin
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Margaret Jean Lamkin, 92, Harrisburg, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1918, to the late James P. Mitchler and Faye (Ewing) Mitchler in Harrisburg. On Dec. 24, 1942, she married James L. "Lonnie" Lamkin, who preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1989.
Mrs. Lamkin was an elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg. She was a member of the Alpha Circle of the Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Candlelight Home Extension Unit, a member of Pride of Arrow Rebekah Lodge No. 324, an Avon representative for many years, a dental assistant and a member of the bridge club.
Mrs. Lamkin is survived by a son, Jim (Betty) Lamkin of Lake of Egypt; granddaughter, Christy (Jeremy) King; great-grandson, Riley King; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Brooke King, all of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law, Helen Williams and her husband, Roy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Opal Tate and Earliene Mitchler; and one brother, James Paul Mitchler.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at the Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Judith Beyler will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
