Obituary: Dorothy Mae (Norris) Guthrie
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dorothy Mae (Norris) Guthrie of Eldorado, went on to be with the Lord on Wed. Aug. 3, 2011.
She was born Dorothy Mae Norris to Rosa and Luther Norris in Oolitic, Ind., on Dec. 19, 1940, and passed away Wednesday at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, in Carbondale.
She is survived by her husband, William L. Guthrie; her son, William J. Guthrie of Beverly Hills, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jessica Fortune of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Kailin Guthrie of Brandon, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren, Ian Fortune and Shelby Fortune both of Daytona Beach, Fla. She is also survived by three brothers, Junior "Red" Norris of Greenwood, Ind., David Norris of Gillette, Wyo., and Tim Norris of Raleigh; and two sisters, Rose Rosenberg of St. Louis, Mo., and Margie Edmister of Eldorado.
She was a faithful member of the College Heights Baptist Church and a Bible scholar. She graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis, Ind., where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a nurturing and dedicated wife and mother who was generous and always showed concern for the welfare of others. She was a supportive and inspirational to all who knew her and she was also straight forward and to the point with her beliefs and convictions. She is now at the right hand of God the father and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Cemetery. Visitation for Dorothy will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Watson Funeral Home.
