Obituary: Wanda (Porter) Kingston

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wanda (Porter) Kingston, 79, of Eldorado passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Fountainview Nursing Home.

Wanda was born in Saline County on Sept. 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Thomas Raleigh and Flossie (Johnson) Porter. She married Donald Kingston on Dec. 19, 1952, who survives in Eldorado.

Wanda graduated from Eldorado Township High School in the Class of 1948. For many years, Wanda worked as a clerk at NuWay Specialty Shop and later at Lad and Lassie in Eldorado. Wanda enjoyed refinishing furniture and selling antiques with her husband. She attended Star Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Wanda is survived by one daughter, Valery (Kingston) Alexander of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Logan Alexander of St. Louis, Mo., Ethan Alexander and Megan Alexander, both of Harrisburg; one sister, Ann Murphy of Houston, Texas; five sisters-in-law, Mary Porter of Eldorado, Sarah Porter of Marion, Sue Davenport of Eldorado, Mary Ann Kingston of Conroe, Texas, and Wanda Kingston of Naples, Fla.; and several cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Kingston; a sister, Ruth Dawes; and two brothers, Wayne Porter and Lawrence Porter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. The Rev. Bill Gholson will officiate; burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at the funeral home.
