Obituary: Wilma Gulley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wilma Gulley, 82, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4:11 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. Wilma played guitar and was well known in the area for her playing and singing of gospel songs.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1928, in Harrisburg to the late Hubert and Vergie (Belt) Simpson. She married Harold Gulley and he preceded her in death.

Surviving family members include two daughters, Jean Tate and husband Spencer of Morganfield, Ky., and Jo Ancell and husband Barry of Carbondale; three brothers, Jim Simpson and wife Carol of Harrisburg, Troy Simpson and wife Linda of Harrisburg and Jack Simpson and wife Linda of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Derek Huff of Carbondale, Casey Huff of Buncombe, Dani Smith of Morganfield, Ky., Tyler Huff of Morganfield, Ky., and Antonio Thomas of Carbondale; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny Gulley; and eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Leroy Hicks will officiate. Burial will follow in Ingram Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg.
