Obituary: Judith Ann Steffen
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Judith Ann Steffen, 67. of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at her residence in Harrisburg.
Judy was born on Dec. 27, 1943, to the late John C. Hayes and Alice R. (Bowen) Hayes. She married James Steffen on Aug. 9, 1998, and he survives in Harrisburg.
Judy was a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a master's degree and she taught special education in the Hardin County school system. Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg.
In addition to her husband James, Judy is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Williams and husband Mike of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Emily and Natalie Williams of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, John R Hayes and wife Donna Hathaway-Hayes of Harrisburg; two stepchildren, Andy Steffen of Longmont, Colo. and Christel Wilcox of Medford Ore.; four stepgrandchildren; and three nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Elbert Dale Cantrell.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg. The Rev. Christine Cunningham will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society and envelopes will be available at the church.
