</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Roberta Joy Guynn, 86, of Eldorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 11, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital, in Evansville, Ind.

Joy was born in Eldorado on May 27, 1925, a daughter of Willie (Morehead) Raley Garrett and McCarthy Raley. Her childhood was lived in Southern Illinois. After her marriage in 1948 to James Guynn, the love of her life, they moved to Cleveland, Tenn., to attend Lee College and prepare for the ministry in the Church of God. Her life as a pastor's wife took her from Cleveland to various churches in Southern Illinois to Cincinnati, Ohio and finally retiring in Eldorado where they pastored for a few years at Cornerstone Worship Center and remained a member there until her death.

She took her role as a pastor's wife as her life's calling in service to the Lord. She worked tirelessly in the church's Women's Ministry, especially in the fundraising activities, and became famous for her peanut butter fudge.

One of her greatest joys was her family. There was no mistaking our mother's love. There were pictures all over their house and she always remembered everyone's birthday with a phone call and a card, always with a dollar or two in it for the little ones. She always kept herself busy, especially reading, working in her flower garden or sewing.

Joy's love for the Lord shined through her everyday life. She always showed kindness and encouragement through her words, her sweet smile, and a pat on the shoulder. Although we as her family and friends grieve at her passing, we celebrate her life and the assurance that she is with the Lord, and one day we will see her face to face.

Joy is survived by a daughter, Mary Anne (Don) Shoupe of Brownsville, Texas; a son, James David (Pam) Guynn of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Jim (Rose Lee) Raley of Marion; several grandchildren, Erika (Jason) Pfluke of San Antonio, Texas, Jordan (Denisse) Shoupe of Brownsville, Texas, Adam (Jamie) Shoupe of Brownsville, Texas, Rachel (Kelvin) Hughes of Liberty Township, Ohio, James (Connie) Guynn of Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie (Chad) Tussey of Fairfield, Ohio; and several great-grandchildren, Ava, Eve JiLu, Sutton James, Emma, Kyla, Myles, Kameron, K.J., Joshua, Bailey, Landon and Keaton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Chamberlain; and two brothers, Charles Raley and William Raley.

Funeral service will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011, with the Rev. Don Stovall and the Rev. Ken Tiffin officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the services at the funeral home. A private burial will be held later. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.

In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of God World Missions Fund and sent to P.O. Box 8016, Cleveland, Tenn. 37320 and also be accepted at the funeral home.

Condolences can be sent to the family via the Internet site www.colonialterracefuneralhome.com.
