Obituary: John Paul Marks

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John Paul Marks passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon due to breathing complications.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Ann Marks, and a wonderful dad and grandpa to his eight children, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and a great friend to the community. He often helped out anyone who needed his help with mechanical repairs, home improvements or computer services. He was also an avid lover of racing and what many would call an all-around good guy. John gave his heart without reservation and without the need for financial profit. He will be dearly missed.

There will not be a funeral service due to his wishes, but if you would like, you may make a donation to the First United Methodist Church in Eldorado or to the American Lung Association in his honor.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Marks; a brother, Dewey Marks; and six daughters, Vicki and Mike Bond, Katie and Robert Lenard, Sandy and Andres Cueva, Rosemary and Bobby Mitchell, Daisy and Mark Ritchie and Delta Marks and John Rice.

He was preceded by his father, John W. Marks; mother, Daisy Murphy; father, Bill Murphy; a sister, Sue Hall; and a son, Jimmy Wiles.

Condolences may be sent to the family at the Internet site www.colonialterracefuneralhome.com.
