Ed Cannon
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ed Cannon, 66, rural Harrisburg, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on April 7, 1945, in Harrisburg to Helen (McGuire) and the late Maynard Cannon. On March 16, 1985, he married Lanelle Mizell Evitts, and she survives. Ed was a teacher, truck driver and farmer. He retired as the site superintendent at Dixon Springs State Park. He was a member of the McKinley Avenue Baptist Church. He faithfully attended Cedar Bluff Church, where he taught Sunday school. "Boom Boom" was a well-known basketball player at Harrisburg High School and went on to play at Middle Tennessee State University.
Surviving family members include his wife, Lanelle Cannon of Harrisburg; mother, Helen Cannon of Harrisburg; son, John (Cindy) Cannon of Decatur; son, Jeff (Laura) Evitts of Simpson; daughter, Pam (Dave) Bramlet of Harrisburg; son, Bart Cannon of Seattle, Wash.; several grandchildren, Bo (Ashley) Bramlet, Shea Bramlet, Shelly (Josh) Schiff, Sarah Evitts, Isabelle and Kennedy Cannon; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Lexi Schiff.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Carol Jo Cannon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Mandy Curry will officiate. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Bluff Church.
