Maxine (Curry) Shumway

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Maxine (Curry) Shumway passed peacefully away at the age of 84 in her home in Gulfport, Miss., on Saturday, June 11, 2011.

She was born in Jackson, Miss., on June 29, 1926.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Ted Shumway; her loving husband, Ira Curry; and their son, Jeff Curry.

She is survived by their children, Ira "Sandy" Curry Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Beverly (Curry) Darden of Gulfport, Miss. and Annette (Curry) Snowden of Glen Ellyn; several grandchildren, Scott Curry, Stacy (Curry) Kelly, Chris Becker, Travis Darden, Austin Curry and Justin Curry and Josette Kappesser; and several great-grandchildren, Forrest Hopkins, Gage and Noah Darden, Molly and Daphne Becker and Taylor and Cara Kappesser.

Maxine moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast from Eldorado in 1981. She loved the coast and the beautiful beach.

She enjoyed shopping, dancing and spending time with friends, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
