Delbert E. Magers

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Delbert E. Magers, 84, Norris City, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.

Delbert was born on July 24, 1926, in Chester to the late Ernst L. and Adele (Hohgrefe) Magers. He graduated from Chester High School and the University of Illinois with a degree in agriculture. He retired from the Farmers Home Administration. He was a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ada Magers of Norris City; a daughter, Martha Magers of Norris City; son and daughter-in-law, Louie and Trena (Armstrong) Magers of Morris; two grandsons, Grant and Alex Magers of Morris; and one granddaughter, Olivia Magers of Morris.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester. Pastor Mike Fields will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester High School Scholarship Fund or the Saline County 4-H. Those wishing to attend should gather at the cemetery.
