Eugene S. Naas

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Eugene S. Naas, 85, of rural Equality, passed away at 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado.

He was born on July 12, 1925, in Equality to Emil Fred and Annie M. (Muenstermann) Naas. Gene married Marjorie L. Baker on March 31, 1948.

He retired from the Continental Grain Co. in Ridgway. He was a faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Equality and an honorary life member of the Ridgway Knights of Columbus.

Gene is survived by his wife, Marjorie L. Naas of Equality; one daughter, Jane C. and Bruce Rankin of Erlanger Ky.; one son, William "Bill" Naas of Evansville, Ind.; and a sister, Mary E. DeVous of Equality.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Johanna Wargel, Leona F. Abell and Ruth A. Drone; and five brothers, Fred A., Herbert W., Raphael L., Robert L. and Edward A. Naas.

Visitation for Gene will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Prayer service will be held that evening at 7 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus service. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway with Father Steven Beatty officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality. Memorials in Gene&#39;s memory may be made to the Ridgway Golden Circle or the Visiting Nurse Association of Eldorado.
