Jesse Reynolds
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jesse Reynolds, 84, Carrier Mills, died 10:15 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1926, in Saline County to John Reynolds and Eunice (Warner) Reynolds. He married Leanore Roark on May 3, 1968, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 2007.
He was a United States Merchant Marine Officer who traveled the Mississippi River.
He is survived by five children, Don (Carol) Douglas of Harrisburg, Robert "Doc" (Susan) Douglas of Carrier Mills, Sandra (Jim) Brantley of Galatia, Norma (Bud) Dearing of Harrisburg and Beverly (Wayne) Willis of Eldorado; a sister, Oamita Beardsley of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Wilson; a grandson, Steven Brantley; a granddaughter, Debbie English; two brothers, Bob Reynolds and Lester "Tinker" Reynolds; and three sisters, Janice Dixon, Dove Dixon and Ella Jeleski.
Cremation has been accorded. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery at a later date. Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills has been entrusted with arrangements.
