John Richard 'Dick' Whipple
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John Richard "Dick" Whipple, 76, of Omaha, died Sunday, May 22, 2011.
He was born in Omaha on Jan. 19, 1935, to Rufus Whipple and Doris Switzer Whipple.
Dick was employed for many years at Meyers Grain Elevator in Eldorado, and worked many years for Edwards farms. He was a lover of birds and nature, an avid Cardinals fan and worked a Times crossword puzzle every day.
Dick is survived by one son, Terry Whipple (Becca) of Pamona; and one daughter, Lisa Horton (Chris), of Eldorado. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Noah and Molly Whipple, Sarah, Scarlett, Travis and Kirsten Horton, and one great grandchild, William Whipple. In addition he is survived by three brothers, Lloyd Whipple of Edmund, Okla., Carl Whipple of Norris City and Wayne Whipple of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joanne Raney; and a brother, Gene Whipple.
At Dick's request, he was cremated and there will be a family service at a later date. The family requests that any memorials be made to Ronald McDonald Charities either online or through Eldorado McDonald's.
