Benjamin Dew Fuller
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Benjamin Dew Fuller, 58, Elizabethtown, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at his residence.
Upon his wishes, his body was cremated and a memorial service will be held, including Masonic rites, at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Honeycomb Church of God with Pastor Harold Miller officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date at Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family.
Benjamin was born Aug. 26, 1952, in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Howard Thomas "Tom" and Louise (Rider) Fuller. He graduated from Riverview Gardens High School, and then honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1971 to 1979, becoming a Vietnam War veteran. He was a dual member of the Crestwood Anchor Lodge No. 443 in St. Louis and Equality Anchor Lodge No. 2, also being a Mason for 37 years. For 21 years he owned and operated Benjamin's Hair Design in Harrisburg. For the past 14 years he was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections as a correctional officer in Vienna.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Melinda (Barger) Fuller; stepchildren, Jedd Harper of Harrisburg and Joddie Harper of Missouri; two stepgrandchildren, Hayley and Riley Harper of Harrisburg; three brothers, Bill Smith, Tom and Karen Fuller and John and Danae Fuller; three sisters, Dayla Wood, Dotty McAnally and Norma and Tony Kivett; mother-in-law, Mary Stack; three brothers-in-law, Cliff and Sherry Barger, Stan and Lisa Barger and David and Arlie Barger; two sisters-in-law, Cindi and Ken Caron and Madeara Barger. Ben was a loving uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
