Orline Williams
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Orline Williams, 81, Marion, wife of Joseph "Joe" Williams, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Parkway Manor, Marion.
She was born in Saline County on Aug. 11, 1929, to the late Orlie Parks Sr. and the late Pauline Gowins Burnett. She was raised in the family home of Lewis "Luke" and Effie Travelstead, who she affectionately called dad and mom. She and Joe were married on March 20, 1946.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion. She received her bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University and taught at the Lincoln School in Marion for 19 years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She is survived by her husband, Joe of Marion; two daughters, Jane Ann Cruse of Marion and Carol Joe Gorman and husband Bob of Garden Valley, Idaho; four grandchildren, Rob Cruse and fiancee Sara Conrin of Marion, David and Lauren Cruse of St. Louis, Mo., Eric Gorman of Alto Pass and Emilee Marks of Anna; two great-grandchildren, Dallas and Jade Marks; a sister, Patsy Downey of Marion; and two brothers, Jerry Beasley of Harrisburg and Jim Beasley of Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Max Beasley.
Graveside services will precede burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, in the Rosehill Cemetery in Marion. The Rev. Jay Long will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery. Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is entrusted with the arrangements.
