Maryann Vaughn
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Maryann Vaughn, 78, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Phoenix, Ariz., after a long illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery, Harrisburg. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are in the charge of Schreffler Funeral Home, Kankakee.
Maryann was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Harrisburg, the daughter of Roman and Mary Ann Gresiak. She was married to Kenneth Vaughn on Aug. 30, 1952.
She was a resident of Kankakee for more than 40 years and moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in December 2008.
Maryann is survived by her three children: her daughter, Carolyn O'Connor of Bourbonnais; her son, Kenneth Vaughn of Tennessee; and her daughter, Lisa Stevenson of Phoenix, Ariz. Maryann's family includes her niece, Vicki; three nephews; daughter-in-law, Lori Vaughn; son-in-law, Brian Stevenson; and her nine beloved grandchildren.
Maryann was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, crocheting, crossword puzzles and spending time with and caring for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Vaughn; her sister, Helen Richey; her brothers Charles and Roman Gresiak; and their parents.
The family respectfully requests that no flowers be given or memorials be made in her honor. A prayer or a shared fond memory about Maryann would be what is most appreciated.
