Paul Herrmann
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Paul Herrmann, 60, of Eldorado went home to be with his Savior on Friday, March 18, 2011, after a sudden heart attack.
He was married 32 years to his wife, Toni (Powell) Herrmann. She, along with their sons, (wives), Jeff (Ashley) and Jason (Amber) Herrmann reside in Eldorado all within two blocks of one another. Carter Herrmann, his 2-year-old grandson was Pappy's pride and joy.
Paul was born March 21, 1950, to the late Paul and Katherine Herrmann.
He is survived by his brothers, John Herrmann of Eldorado and Bill (Peggy) Russel of Cape Corral, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Frances "Sis" Brown and Barbara Jones; and his brother, Bert Herrmann.
Currently surviving nieces include Cindy Hathaway, Debbie Johnson, Kathy Smith, Margaret Jones, and Kelly Gates along with nephews including Tom Jones, Terry Travelstead, Billy Jones, and Kevin Russel. Paul will be sadly missed by Willadean Powell, Tammy Shirley, Terri Davis, Timmy Powell, Cheryl Powell and many family members and close friends.
Paul retired two years prior from Eldorado School District where he served as a custodian for 30-plus years. He was loved and admired by his many co-workers and lifelong friends from Eldorado. Paul's compassionate, friendly and encouraging personality will long be remembered by those who knew him best. Many who knew him would agree that his love for the Lord, his family, and his friends will be what is remembered the most. In addition to sharing Christ's love with his family and friends, he also volunteered for Hospice of Southern Illinois, where he was privileged to lead several souls to the Lord.
Paul Herrmann's work on this earth is finished and now he is reaping his reward while rejoicing in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, with the service beginning at 4 p.m., followed by meal at Equality Christian Center. A private graveside service will be held on a later date.
