Wayne Tanner

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wayne Tanner, 74, 509 Fife St., Carrier Mills, died 4:15 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at his residence.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Jerry Wells officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the funeral home.

He was born on June 29, 1936, in Carrier Mills to the late Vern and Gladys (Blackman) Tanner. He married the former Jean Parks on June 9, 1953, and she survives.

He was owner and operator of Wayne&#39;s Auto and Wrecker Service in Carrier Mills for the past 41 years.

He was a former council member of the Carrier Mills Village Board. He was also a member of the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. He also loved to fish.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Tanner of Carrier Mills; a daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Swan of Carrier Mills; three granddaughters, Jennifer (Kenny) Rushing of Harrisburg, Terra (Robbie) Hadley and Stephanie (Richard) Milligan, both of Carrier Mills; four great-grandchildren, Colton Wolaver, Dillon Rushing, Haley Hadley and Robbie Hadley III; a sister, Connie (Harley) Tite of Ozark; and two brothers, Gene (Betty) Tanner and Larry Tanner, both of Carrier Mills.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Gracie Cain.
