</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Billy Ray Martin Sr., 66, Brookport, formerly of Carrier Mills, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital, Paducah, Ky.

Memorial services for the cremated remains will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with John Tuthill officiating. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

He was born on July 25, 1944, in Carrier Mills to the late Everett Edgar and Odie Monzell (Hurley) Martin.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Apostolic Church of God.

He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Steve) Singer of Brookport; two sons, Billy Ray Martin Jr. of Shawneetown and Joseph Dale Martin of Brookport; two brothers, Charlie Martin of Carrier Mills and Harry Lee Martin of Eldorado; three sisters, Josie Martin, Vivian Martin and Patricia Cavins, all of Carrier Mills; six grandchildren, Robert Day III, Tim Day, Billy Martin III, Nicholas Martin, Alexandria Martin and Joseph Martin Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Julia Eve Marie Martin.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Morse and Thelma Morse Hise; and a brother, Kenneth Martin.
