Direct cremation was accorded with Mickey Burroughs of First Baptist Church in New Port Richey, Fla., officiating.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1926, in Bowling Green, Ky., to Oscar and Verta Mae (Mehler) Broughton.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, New Port Richey, Fla. She was a licensed practical nurse at a nursing home in St. Louis, Mo.

She was the widow of Dwight Buffington. She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Lee Summers of New Port Richey, Fla.; a son, Danny Wayne Beal of Eldorado; four grandchildren, Melissa Philbeck of New Port Richey, Fla., Angie of Eldorado, Mandy Beal of Eldorado and Danny Beal Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Zachary Philbeck of New Port Richey, Fla.
