</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[David Loudy, 87, Paris, Tenn., died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Henry County Medical Center, Paris, Tenn.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, Paris, Tenn., with Trent Bullock and Larry Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Paris, Tenn. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, and 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1923, in Johnson City, Tenn., to the late Harry and Frances (Milhorn) Loudy. He married Margaret Banks Loudy on Dec. 28, 1948, and she survives.
He was a World War II Air Force veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a deacon, former Sunday School teacher and former Sunday School superintendent. He retired in 1986 after teaching 40 years. He taught at Grove Junior High, where he was a football coach and member of the coaching staff of the Memorable 1949 Team. He was a member of the Paris Henry County Retired Teachers Association, member of the of the Northwest Tennessee Area on Aging Council, former football and basketball official, former scout master of Troop No. 26, a Senior Olympic participant and received the Service Award from Paris Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
Pallbearers are Bill Hudson, Chuck Bullock, Chick King, Clint Barrett, Lou Carter and Jimmy Williams, Jack Sparks Jr. and Bob Irby. Honorary pallbearers are the men's Bible class of First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dan (Mindy) Loudy of Eldorado; two sisters, Blanche (Lester) Jones of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Frances Witt of Kingsport, Tenn.; a brother, Fred Arthur of Springfield, Ore.; a grandson, Grant Loudy of Eldorado; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Loudy of Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, June Bennett and Margaret Helena Loudy; and a brother, Eugene Loudy.
