</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Billie Jack Smith, 78, of Shawneetown died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at his home in Shawneetown.

Billie Jack was born south of Shawneetown in Bowlesville Township on Sept. 23, 1932, to the late William and Ruby Pearl (Gentry) Smith.

He had been in retail sales most of his life before retirement. He was a good father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed by the community.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Smith and her companion Rick Dunk of Shawneetown; one son, Daryl Keppner; two grandchildren, Jade Cavins and Chelsea Keppner; and one sister, Martha Jean Douglas of Rosiclare.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Koeber.

Billie Jack requested to be cremated with no services. His family will have a private committal at a later date. Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown is in charge of arrangements. You may leave a note of comfort to the family at the Internet site www.coxandson.com.
