Leda Fern Golden
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Leda Fern Golden, age 86 of Hulda Lake Road, Shawneetown, went to be with the Lord at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at her home, peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Leda was born in White County Oct. 16, 1924, to the late Leo and Rosie (Wilson) Mobley. She married George Golden on Aug. 19, 1941, in Jackson, Mo. After 56 years of marriage, George preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1997.
Leda is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Kenny) Bosaw of Shawneetown, a son, Larry Golden of Shawneetown and a daughter, Dina (Gary) Murphy of Ridgway; a daughter-in-law, Linda Golden of Shawneetown; 10 grandchildren, Shelly (Chuck) Vinyard, Scott (Michelle) Bosaw, Kristy Goebel, Jill (David) Bray, Brad (Cheyenne Gully) Golden, Mark (Tiffany) Golden, Jeff (Shawna) Golden, Cindy (Gary) Roderick, Chad (Karen Wargel) Murphy and Melanie Murphy; 20 great-grandchildren, Matt (Kim) Vinyard, Ashley Vinyard, Kyler, Chloe, and Grant Bosaw, Audie Goebel, Megan and Allie Golden, Cliffy Kretzer, Justin, Dillon and Hanna Golden, Madison and Avery Golden, Zach and Kyle Buckman, Jake Golden, Morgan Roderick, and Jordan and Marcus Wargel; and one great-great grandchild, Lily Vinyard.
She is also survived by siblings, brother Joe (Margie) Mobley of Omaha, sister Wilma (Thom) Chandler of Lakeland, Fla., sister Judy Rich of Morganfield, Ky., and sister Nigel (Raymond) Miles of Junction.
Leda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Donnie and Jerry Golden; and brothers, Carl and Leroy Mobley.
Leda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and farmer. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilting, reading and most important, visiting with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation for Leda will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, funeral home with the Rev. Jim Howard officiating. Burial will be next to her husband in Plainview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the VNA Hospice and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
