Kathern B. Harper

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kathern B. Harper, 86, of Morton, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at her home in Morton.

She was born on July 14, 1924, in Matthews, Mo., to Jefferson and Katie (Taylor) King. She married Dalles Dinkins on July 13, 1940, in Benton, Mo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1976. She then married Thomas Harper on May 27, 1978, in Peoria. He also preceded her in death. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Katie Westlake of Morton and Joyce (Gary) Little of Scottsdale, Ariz. Also surviving is one sister, Louise Dodd of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Jack King of Deland, Fla.; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathern worked as a warehouse manager for Foster and Gallagher for 20 years, retiring in 1975.

A visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Thompson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
