Jack D. Stanley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jack D. Stanley, 79, of Marion, passed away at 11:58 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. the same day. Burial will be at Coal Bank Springs Cemetery, with military rites conducted by VFW Post No. 1301, American Legion Post No. 147 and the National Guard.

Jack was born July 23, 1931, in Kankakee to Clyde and Delphia (McNail) Stanley. He married Joyce Phillips in Marion. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Cathy and Carroll Keltner of Raleigh, Joel and Kathy Stanley of Eldorado, Jan and Chris Schimp of Eldorado, and Jacqui and Mike Hobbs of Oran, Mo.; grandchildren, Brandi Stanley, Matthew Keltner, Adam Stanley, Liza King, Ryan Schimp, Nicholas Keltner, Luke Schimp, Gabe Schimp, Taylor Hobbs and Reed Hobbs; great-grandchild, Presli King; sister, Phyliss and Don Green of Georgia; and brother, Wayne Stanley of Marion.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Signaigo; and nephew, Forest Signaigo.

Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid horseman. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a history buff and loved to tell stories. Jack was proud of his kids and loved his family very much.
