Betty Jean Vaughn

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Betty Jean Vaughn, 86, of Eldorado, passed away at 10:48 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Ridgway Manor.

She was the wife of Roy Kenneth Vaughn, who survives.

Betty was born in Eldorado on Aug. 3, 1924, the daughter of the late Richard Emmett and Orpha (Turner) Horn.

She worked as a switchboard operator prior to retirement.

Betty is survived by two sons, Richard Vaughn of Harrisburg and Greg (Mary) Vaughn of Murphysboro; a brother, Carl Horn of Eldorado; three sisters, Barbara Threet of Quincy, Carolyn Lewis of Missouri and Elwanda Markum of Creve Coeur; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, J.R. Horn, Don Horn and Tom Horn; and two sisters, Marge Perkins and Verma Russell.

Private graveside services will be held with the Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Arrangements are in the charge of Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.
