Steven Green

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Steven Green, 83, lifelong resident of Shawneetown, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, in the Saline Care Nursing Center.

Steve, as most knew him, was born in Old Shawneetown on Dec. 1, 1926, to George and Myra (Anderson) Green. Steve proudly served his country during World War II in the Army. He was married to Clara Jean (Thrailkill) who preceded him in death. Steve was well known throughout the area for his plumbing business, which he retired from after 45 years of business. Steve was a member of the Lions Club, American Legion and the First Baptist Church in Shawneetown. He was a good husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, he will be missed by the community.

Steve is survived by three sons, Mike Green of Shawneetown, Roger Wilson of Cordova, Tenn., and Jackie Thrailkill of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Sharon (Leo) Foster of Morganfield, Ky., and Loretta Young of Lincoln; one brother, Cecil Green of East St. Louis and a sister-in-law, Anna Green of Shawneetown; along with 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Steve will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown with the Rev. Jack Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 11 a.m. on Saturday. Steve will be buried in the Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown with military rites.
