Kenneth Howell 'Nick' Estes

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kenneth Howell "Nick" Estes passed away at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010.

He was born in Harrisburg to the late Louis Earl and Mabel Howell Estes.

He is survived by a brother, Jimmy Estes and wife Linda of Pekin; special friends, Freda Tarlton and Lorie Travelstead of Harrisburg; and bestest buddy, great-nephew Caleb Cattivera of Harrisburg; also several nephews and nieces and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Kenneth worked as a dispatcher for the old White Top Cab Co, old Dukes Car Wash, Orpheum Billiards ("Rack &#39;em Nick") and lastly in maintenance for the City of Harrisburg, Sunset Lawn Cemetery where he retired from in the mid-&#39;90s.

"Nick" was a life-long Chicago Cubs and Bears fan as well as a dedicated Harrisburg Bulldogs football fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Shirley Estes Gibbs, Bonnie Estes Dunn and Billie Estes Auvil; and five brothers, Gerald (Nubbins), Fred, Eddie, Trevor and Buddy Estes.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday. For those who wish, donations are requested for Hospice of Southern Illinois and the Shawnee Rose Care Center Resident Christmas fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
