Michael 'Mike' Church

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Michael Alan "Mike" Church, 66, of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:27 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

He was born on June 20, 1944, in Eldorado to the late Cecil Eugene and Ruth (Nicholson) Church. Mike married Linda Powell on April 18, 2009, and she survives.

Mike was the owner/operator of M/C Enterprises Trucking and Excavating Company and Brook Valley Farm. He attended Pankeyville Baptist Church. He was a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge No. 325, the Shriners, and the Local 318 of Operating Engineers.

Surviving family members include his wife, Linda Church of Harrisburg; son, Todd (Stephanie) Church of Harrisburg; daughter, Angie (Jason) Butler of Harrisburg; their mother, Carol Nolen of Harrisburg; stepson, Brian (Myra) Absher of Bedford, Ind.; stepdaughter, Leslee Duncan of Marion; brother, Gene (Cam) Church of Harrisburg; stepbrother, Jim Pearce of Equality; and grandchildren, Dylan Butler, Devin Butler, Logsdon Church, Austin Connor, Zachery and Cassidy Absher, and Jay Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepmother, Reita Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Steve Nyberg will officiate. Burial will follow in Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel with Masonic Rites to be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
