Blanche Williams
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Blanche Williams, 101, Ridgway's oldest resident, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010.
Blanche was born Sept. 12, 1909, to the late Frank and Ada (Downen) Wilson. On Aug. 7, 1928, she was married to Charles Williams with whom she shared 70 wonderful years of marriage when he preceded her in death in 1999. Blanche was a pillar of the community, always so pleasant and caring. Blanche attended church for many years at the Ridgway First Baptist. She was a good wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She will be greatly missed by the Ridgway area.
Blanche is survived by her daughter-in-law, Helen (Allen) Williams of Marion; two grandsons, Kurt Williams of Marion and Dr. Kent (Robin) Williams of Nashville, Tenn.; a granddaughter Cindy (Hugh) Myrick of Kernerville, N.C., along with six great-grandchildren, Danielle Muehlenbein, Nicole Williams and Kacy Williams, Joshua Williams, Benjamin Williams and Kaitlyn Williams. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Hattie Williams, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and really good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Lloyd Williams; a brother, Clyde Wilson; and three sisters, Lena Rister, Bessie Hedges and Hazel Wilson.
Visitation for Blanche will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway with the Rev. Rob Gallion officiating and interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Asbury Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
