Mary Garnett

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Garnett, 86, formerly of Harrisburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at VIP Manor Nursing Home in Wood River.

She was born on Jan. 24, 1924, in Briceville, Tenn., the daughter of Richard and Ruth Duncal Lindsay. She married Charles Garnett on Sept. 14, 1968, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1988.

Surviving are two brothers, Daniel Lindsay of Golconda and Trendell Lindsey of Shawneetown; two sisters, Faye Donohue of Alton and Charolette Hale of Harrisburg; a host of nieces and nephews, including Gary and Marilyn Van Hooser of Alton, Jerry and Cheryl Lindsay of Harrisburg and Vicki Sanford of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Morris Lindsay, Wendell Lindsay, J.R. Lindsay and Avery Lindsay; and two sisters, Iona Smith and Maurine Patrick.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. officiating and burial in Vinyards Chapel Cemetery at Karbers Ridge. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home.
