Audie Patterson Jr.

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Audie Patterson Jr., 76, of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., after a long battle with kidney and heart disease.

He was born on May 10, 1934, to the late Aud and Naomi Ruth (Mick) Patterson in the Bankston area. On Oct. 14, 1953, he married Bonnie Jewell Gobin in Harrisburg and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2009.

Audie was employed by Chrysler GM for 10 years, Penn Central for 20 years and Egyptian Health Department for 13 years. He and his wife Bonnie owned and operated Audie&#39;s BBQ. Audie was saved in 1977 and became a minister for his Lord and Savior. He ministered for 30 years with his wife Bonnie by his side. They pastored at Ridgway Church of God and Unionville Independent Church.

Audie loved living in Harrisburg. He was an avid Bulldog and Cubs fan. He attended the Harrisburg school systems, Horace Mann, Malan Jr. High and Harrisburg High School. He was a very active Democrat and served as a Harrisburg precinct committeeman.

Surviving family members include two daughters, Carolyn Voss and Linda (Lonnie) Lane; five grandchildren, Prudance (Quincy) Evans, Dallas Lane, Crystal (Chris) Tabor, Natalie (Adrian) Thodoropoulos and Jerric Voss; five great-grandchildren, Robert, Kendall, Xavier and Zander Evans, and Prudance Alyzah Tabor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Grace Patterson, Roberta Gobin, Omer Stone, Kenneth and Bertha Gobin, Bill and Phyllis Powell, Deon and Carla Gobin and Harold and Vivian Caffee.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; stepfather, Daniel Minton; grandson, Chad Wayne Lane; two brothers, Howard Patterson and Bernie Patterson; two sisters, Blanche Ledbetter and Lucille Patterson; mother-in-law, Genola Gobin; father-in-law, George Gobin; three brothers-in-law, Howard Ledbetter, Donnie Gobin and Glen Sharp; and two sisters-in-law, Wilma Stone and Betty Sharp.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at the Land Street Church of God in Harrisburg. The Rev. Harold Miller and the Rev. Harold Caffee will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
