Mary Ann Dickey
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Ann Dickey, 73, of Ridgway, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010.
Mary Ann was born on April 23, 1937, in the Ponds Settlement community, to the late Edwin and Dolores (Abell) Schmitt. Mary Ann attended Catholic grade school in Ridgway and graduated from Ridgway High School. On June 30, 1955, she married the love of her life, Jack Dickey. They have been lovingly together for 55 years of marriage. Mary Ann worked and retired from the Banterra Bank in Ridgway after 21 years of service. Mary Ann was a faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway, a member of the Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. She loved to cook being well known for her dumplings and loved to be with her family. She and Jack had enjoyed retirement traveling. Mary Ann was a wonderful wife, good mother, great sister, loving grandmother and good friend. She will be missed by her family and the community.
She is survived by her husband, Jack of Ridgway; daughter, Susan Musgrave of Carmi; daughter, Karen and Bruce Edwards of Omaha; three grandchildren, Jaclyn and Nick Hunt, Emily and Jeremy Browning and Matthew Musgrave. She is also survived by three brothers, Raymond Schmitt of Shawneetown, Jerry (Gina) Schmitt of Mt. Vernon, Ind., and David (Lucinda) Schmitt of Ridgway; five sisters, Sue and Burt Naas of Shiloh, Kay and Jim Wargel of Ridgway, Jean and Frank Wills of Junction, Jane and Tom Harmon of Shawneetown and Lynn and Jim Schanzle of Carmi; a stepgrandson, Lucas Browning; and a brother-in-law, Dennis and Mary Dickey of Ridgway.
She was preceded in death by her parents; along with a son-in-law, Bill Musgrave; granddaughter, Shanna Rae Edwards; sister-in-law, Betty Schmitt; brother-in-law, Roger Dickey; and a nephew, Michael Schmitt.
Visitation for Mary Ann will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway where a prayer service will be at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass for Mary Ann will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway with Father Steven Beatty celebrating Mass and interment will be in the St. Patrick's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to the St. Patrick's Cemetery in her memory, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
