</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[JoAnn Simmons, 70, of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:56 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born on March 2, 1940, in Harrisburg to the late Alfred and Grace (Keasler) Steapleton. On June 2, 1979, she married John Simmons, who survives. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving family members include her husband, John Simmons of Harrisburg.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walnut Grove Baptist Church of Harrisburg. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery. Arrangements are in the charge of Reed Funeral Chapel, Harrisburg.
