Marie Pickford
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Marie Pickford, 86, a longtime Harrisburg resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, in Alpharetta, Ga.
She and her husband, John, owned and operated Pickford's Flowers and Gifts in Harrisburg from the early 1970s to 1989.
Marie loved her family dearly and her gardening brought her great joy. Her quiet manner and gentle kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
Marie was born May 1, 1924, in Arcadia, Mo., to Frank Reichert and Mary (Birkman) Reichert. She graduated from the Ursuline Academy in Arcadia.
On July 1, 1945, she married John Pickford. He preceded her in death June 15, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and brothers, Larry, Frank, John and Harold.
Survivors include a sister, Christine (Teeny) of Festus, Mo.; four daughters, Joyce Goldstein (Jordan) of Gainesville, Fla., Judy Winkeler (Les) of Harrisburg, Janet Pickford of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Jill Russell of Johns Creek, Ga.; two sons, Larry Pickford (Tricia) of Duluth, Ga., and Mike Pickford (Carla) of Johns Creek, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Rick Goldstein of Gainesville, Fla., Dana Plotke (Daryl) of Gainesville, Fla., Ben Pickford of Johns Creek, Ga., Rob Pickford of Johns Creek, Ga., Jennifer Steger (Bob) of Seattle, Wash., Erin Tucker (Rob) of St. Louis, Mo. and Lauren Russell and Cole Blandford, both of Johns Creek, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Eliza Goldstein, Blake Goldstein and Elaina Plotke; brother-in-law, Bob Pickford (Charlene) of Victoria, Texas; and sisters-in-law, Darlene Reichert of Arcadia, Mo., Lucille Favreau of Carbondale and Juanita Pickford of Harrisburg.
Arrangements are being made by Byars Funeral Home in Cumming, Ga. Family visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. Services will be Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, in St. Monica's Catholic Church in Duluth, Ga.
