We want to see those strange and great garden items
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Have a strange item in the garden? A tomato that looks like Glenn Beck? A gourd that looks like Sarah Palin?
A huge potato?
Perhaps just an interesting scene, such as the one created by Richard Disney of Galatia. We are calling it "Garden Art."
Annually people spot the unusual in our area gardens and annually we like to share the harvest of the unusual, like the smiling tomato Linda and Dave Milligan grew in their patch at 1006 W. Mable St., Harrisburg. In previous years a large oak tree shaded the tomato patch and it did not produce well.
That oak tree fell last year and the tomatoes are much larger and, evidently, happier.
The tomato in Linda's hand appears to hold special appreciation for the sunshine and some 12-12-12 fertilizer.
Bring your item to the office, take a picture and e-mail it to us. Anything unusual from monster sunflowers to a smiling tomato.
You may e-mail to editor@yourclearwave.com, using the subject line veggie so we can quickly spot it.
And it doesn't have to be unusual, either - we want to see any garden that makes a local gardener burst with pride!
